Description:

Celebrate Central Library's 100th birthday by learning how to design, carve, and print a linoleum block as a broadside print or greeting card. In this class, taught by Nova Community Arts, we will start with the basics of carving, including how to get textures and effects. After, you’ll get to print your block on Nova Community Arts' portable printing press to create an edition of prints or greeting cards! You’ll leave with several copies of your print, as well as your carved linoleum block. This is a hands-on activity that will include carving a block and printing it. This activity can be a little messy due to the use of acrylic ink for printing and involves a sharp tool for the actual carving. All levels of experience are welcome.
